Orb

It's me. Orb of JustOrb.com fame. Some of you know me. Some of you don't, but maybe we can change that! In short, I'm a geeky and somewhat freaky creative-type with too many things I want to do and little time to do them all. I am very much into all manner of arts and crafts and music ... both the creation of things myself and the enjoyment of other people's work. I love my cats entirely too much. I love all cats entirely too much. If I weren't married, I'd probably be in danger of becoming one of those little old ladies with a house full of cats ... though I'd at least clean up after them. :) I love to spend time in the kitchen pretending I am an Iron Chef and creating new and interesting meals which usually turn out edible. The funny thing is, I am not so keen on eating. I do love to cook though. Odd, isn't it? Don't people who love cooking usually love to eat too? I've been a computer nerd since I got my first Vic 20 and Commodore 64 in high school, and recently made the big switch from a Windows PC to a beautiful new iMac. I wish I could have switched sooner. Now instead of having to know every little thing about how my computer works and how to fix it, I can finally just sit down and enjoy using it. Perhaps I will eventually cease to be a computer nerd. Nah ... I doubt that will ever happen. I've already installed the OS X developer tools and begun to learn to program on the Apple. Yeah, once a nerd, always a nerd, I guess. I've lived in Austin, Texas for about 16 years, but I am a Texas girl through and through having lived my whole life somewhere in this state. So far, Austin seems to be the best fit for me, and I imagine I'll live here for the rest of my life ... unless I get to move to New Zealand, which has been a dream of mine and my husband's for a few years now. If I think of anything else witty and informative to say about myself, I'll add it later.
